-          I decided to actively listen to stuff that I was into back in my pre-middle school/punk days and see how they fared. Most of it didn’t do so well (see: Dashboard, Boy Hits Car, Filter, David Gray) That said, I won’t apologize for Everclear or Alanis. You can go your own way.
-          OFF! Is cool and everything, but the similarity to Black Flag is just too obvious and forced…I don’t know
-          My rubric for what music I will listen to in a given month really turned up some garbage this month that I can’t say that I’m proud for having listened to (see: TobyMac, Tamia, 2 Chainz)
-          For as badass as other Sodom albums are, “In the Sign of Evil” is one of the goddamn shittiest metal albums I’ve ever listened to…Just plain bad
-          The Shins have a new album. Who cares.
-          Mishka has got to be the most boring ‘reggae’-‘rock’ act I have ever heard…it takes being laid back to a totally unnecessary level
-          “The Search Party Never Came” is a classic of its genre, few of those as there are
-          I don’t see what’s so great about Santigold
-          Manufactured Superstars are okay when its just beats, fucking TERRIBLE with vocals
-          More than a decade after its release, “Bawitdaba” is still the most gloriously ignorant song ever released unto the public
-          You saw that right, in one day I listened to full albums by Kid Rock, Korn, and Sugar Ray. COME AT ME BRO.
-          The soundtrack CDs for the late-90’s motion picture adaptation of the comic book “Spawn,” and to a lesser extent, “the Matrix” predicted the current wave of dubstep-infused quasi-metal and told us “NO!”….WE DIDN’T LISTEN.
-          “Appetite for Destruction” is one of those few ubiquitous mega-smash hits that is totally deserves that distinction…classic
-          “Leave Home” is vastly underrated even amongst Ramones fans…It’s the best summation of what they were about
-          The new Swans album is long as hell, dark and gloomy, and somewhat taxing to listen to because of moments of trudging repetition…but in the end its worth it in the way a good piece of art should be…a very deep album for sure
-          I <3 “Colors”
-          Folk-punk just isn’t really my thing
-          The lineup of Sledding With Tigers, Butthole Surfers, and Strawberry Alarm Clock on 9/26 makes it look like I listen exclusively to bands with ridiculous names
-          R.I.P. Andy Williams
-          Yuppicide isn’t as good as I remember them being
-          “Don’t Be Mistaken” = greatest skate punk album ever. Nuff said.
-          I hate to admit it but “Purple” is a pretty solid album for what it is

I also saw Warpaint, James Blake, Quicksand, M83, Refused, The Allah-La’s, Maria Bamford, Papa, Nick Waterhouse, Joyce Manor, Garfunkel & Oates, Benden Walsh, Brent Weinbach, David Cross, King Khan & The Shrines, Aesop Rock, Against Me!, Lightning Bolt, Dinosaur Jr.,  Desaparecidos, HEALTH, Yeasayer, American Nightmare, Bloom (R.I.P.), Mouthful Of Snow (twice), Being As An Ocean, Weatherbox, My Iron Lung (twice), Beanvian Stalks Guava (twice), north Americans, No Paws, Rapid Youth, Naomi Punk, Limerent Dance Machine (twice), Light Light, Providence, Scarlett Avenue, Welcome To Now, A Push For Clarity, Crisis Arm, Till I Fall, Locked In Silence, Dead End Alaska, Aukerman, Sledding With Tigers, Logan Greene Electric, Hello Penelope, Slimmy Heart Project, Taurus Scott, B.
