NOTES
-          -“The Anatomy Of” could have been so much better
-          -“Frolic Through the Park” is the funniest name for a straightforward thrash metal album
-          -The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are fucking DOPE!!
-          -First Blood’s new CD is so political, which was unexpected, but what was expected is that it’s fucking badass
-          -Body Count is terrible
-          -I know this is a cliché, but “De-Loused” is still my favorite Mars Volta album
-          -The Coltranes get better with every damn release they put out there, those limey bastards
-          -God I love Scale The Summit and the Smashing Pumpkins
-          -Why it took my this long to hear Camper Van Beethoven, Negative FX and Los Lobos is beyond me
-          -I listened to more Samhain this month than I have in my entire life
-          -I don’t see what the big deal about “Pinkerton” is, good or bad…I mean, it’s alright…
-          -“The Black Light” is a beautiful album, Calexico is really good
-          -The Destiny’s Child samples that 2ManyDJ’s uses towards the end of the album kind of soured me
-          -The Sounds are just not my thing, the only song from the whole album that I liked was one from a commercial! On a related note, Hoodie Allen FUCKING SUCKS!
-         - Quiet Company is good enough but there are just too many moments on their album where I think, “wait isn’t this part from another band’s song?”
-          -I like “Dear Science” more than I like “Return to Cookie Mountain”
-          -I am so white that I never listened to a full-length OutKast album until the 12th of this month and had never really heard Erykah Badu at all before the 26th :/
-          -The Cowboy Junkies sound entirely different than what I expected them to sound like. On a related but opposite note, The Evens sound exactly like what I expected them to sound like.
-          -Harms Way is sooo damn heavy.
-          -OK Go and Adestria are both kinda annoying
-          -I actually like Hilt more than Skinny Puppy, and that’s not just because I listened to one of SP’s shittier later-period albums this month
-          -“Progression Through Unlearning.” ‘Nuff said.
-         -Of all the modern-day female-fronted first-wave-throwback ska bands, Ocean 11 is probably the best
-          -“Steady Diet of Nothing” is at once Fugazi’s heaviest and most underrated album
-          -There is a general stink across the entire album and there are more than a handful of songs that straight-up suck, but “Chinese Democracy” has its moments, and it weirdly reminded me of the Pumpkins ‘comeback’ album “Zeitgeist”…I think Axl Rose and Billy Corgan have similar control problems and grandeur anxieties
-         - Soul Coughing did a lot of the live sounds for Roni Size’s music. Who knew?
-          -I was pissed at myself when I realized I didn’t have “Pretty Hate Machine” on my iPod already, I had that cassette tape when I was in 5th grade fordanzigssake
-          -The concept behind Brujeria is the coolest shit I’ve ever heard
-          -It had been way too long since I had listened to Kalmah
-          -Relient K’s otherwise inoffensive Weezer music is just made horrible by the obvious and constant Jesus references, gooood its annoying
-          -The new Danzig album is actually pretty good

I also saw Alpha & Omega, Terror, Crisis Arm, Them Savages, North Americans, Burn Infinite, One X Choice, Blood Stands Still, Ruckus, Wisdom In Chains, Danzig, Samhain, and Danzig & Doyle Performing The Misfits live this month

Seeing Danzig sing Misfits songs was one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed.

NOTES:
-          -I listened to a bunch of dope music this month
-          -I still really like the first 5 Green Day albums, before “Warning”
-          -I regret not seeing Twin Sister at FYF but they played so damn early! They seem like a nighttime band.
-          Cass McCombs was pretty boring at FYF I could only stand like 2 songs
-          -Words of wisdom from Funkadelic
-          -The Valiant listed is not the band from Temecula, it’s a hardcore band from Illinois. And they’re dope.
-          -Headcleaners: If your first EP is called “Disinfection,” shouldn’t you’re 2nd EP not be “The Infection Grows”? I mean what did you disinfect?
-          -Dev and Young L fucking suck.
-          -Rooney: talk about forgettable.
-          -Carlos Nino’s music is very good
-          -“Black Sails in the Sunset” is without a doubt the best AFI album
-          -Strife and Iceburn are fucking dope. New Lows is pretty cool.
-           - One X Choice.
-          -Nobody.
-          -Chemotherapy is one of the worst bands I have ever heard in all my days.
-          -Lil B and Kendrick Lamar are both dope but entirely overrated by entirely different sections of the hip hop community
-          -It had been way too long since I had listened to a full Death album
-          -The first time I listened to “We Are the Night” I hated it, except the fish song. Now I don’t think that song is so funny and the rest of the album is much better.
-         - “Dancing In the Streets” is 100% the worst Van Halen song. Its just terrible.
-          -Trash Talk…come on.
-          -Of all the anonymous old-school hardcore bands I listened to this month, Expatriate was probably the best
-          -Destroy The Runner sounds EXACTLY like Darkest Hour…except, you know, Christian.
-          -If the singer from Warbeast isn’t the same guy from GWAR, then you can slap my ass and call me Charlie because it’s a spitting image, audibly.
-          -Wisdom In Chains is one of the best hardcore bands I’ve heard in awhile
-          -Rings Of Saturn are amongst the dopest metal bands in the world today, for sure. For sure.

I also saw Avi Buffalo, Title Fight, Cass McCombs, Smith Westerns, Cults, The Weakerthans, Kid Dynamite, Broken Social Scene, Guided By Voices, Glass Candy, Descendents, Dead Milkmen, Death From Above 1979, Gatsbysfiddle, Valiant, North Americans, One X Choice, Downpresser, Strife, Bam, We Da West Camp, Aaron Evans, One B Lo, Ready Steady Go, The Coltranes, The Junk, and TSOL perform live.

The Weakerthans played my favorite song by them, "Confessions of a Futon Revolutionist" and I nearly fainted when the Descendents came out. They were great from beginning to end, one of the best punk shows I've ever seen. It was awesome to see Strife too, that was a really fun hardcore show.
