MUSIC NOTES
- Of all the major jam bands I think I like moe. the least
- Favorite 'new finds' of the month: Emancipator, Highlands, Retox, The Afternoon Gentlemen, Bloodroot, James Name, Futuristic, Protester, Laura Benitez & The Heartache
- That new KoRn song is like about bullying or something and it's just so, so lame
- On a related note, I listened to way too much shitty nu-metal this month. For shame.
- The new Agnostic Front album seems almost like self-parody, or like that sketch from "The Breakfast Boys" "LINES are the problem in America!"
- Between Cock And Ball Torture, Krotchripper, and Regurgitate I sure did listen to a good amount of stupid pornogrind this month
- Man, Kansas is some cheesy shit
- "Across the seas, the stormy seas, the bird don't look behind. He wants to know, though there is no shore in sight For Miles...I want it all."
- "Things that may not seem important now may be tomorrow"
- Don't get me wrong, I like The Decemberists for the most part, but damn some of their shit is just too goddamn twee for my tastes. On the other hand, while again I enjoy Modest Mouse as much as the next guy, its like too contrived or something...his vocals are actually what turns me off even though I know that's a big selling point for fans...To each their own I guess
- The White Buffalo is alright but just so goddamn boring
- There are a couple alright moments but as expected, the new Taking Back Sunday album is pretty damn mediocre
- "Sol Invictus" is drastically different than any other Faith No More album because of its relative subtlety which at first kinda put me off but its so satisfying its like I couldn't help but repeat it right after the first listen, something I never do even with bands like this that I adore. Unexpectedly the highlight for me is the acoustic closer "From The Dead" which may be in my top 5 FNM songs from their entire catalog. I also like the whole theme of the album being about the Undefeated Sun...it's like after all these years a band with a name as blatant as Faith No More is finally addressing the concept of religion and spirituality in a way that I totally agree with...Humanity Will Never Stop Worshiping The Sun...Album of the year.
- Worst of the month: Like A Storm
- Angra's style is like a million miles away from what I thought it was gonna be
- Asking Alexandria and All Time Low both fucking suck how are they so popular
- I finally put my original end of the summer demo online after years of not even having a copy of my own...it was recorded back in 2007 at my family's old house...several of the songs on there have been converted into Gravitys songs since then...check it out if you want http://endofthesummer.bandcamp.com/album/first-demo
- 324 is so damn BRUTAL
- Not until re-listening to that DK's album did I realize how deeply their aesthetic influenced my own approach to \_/, although not necessarily musically the same
- So Primus re-did the entire soundtrack to "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" in their weird way but also pretty strictly true to the original...Why they did this, I don't know.
- Any version of Dr. Know without Kyle Toucher really grinds my gears
- "Walkin'/Shinin'/Disappearin' For Your Love"
- "I have The Warmth Of The Sun within me at night"
- I'm not even embarrassed that I enjoy Ben Folds Five as much as I do
- OMG I love Laura Benitez so goddamn much...Few albums in recent history caused immediate infatuation..."Good love ain't good enough" / "Take me off the shelf  and dust me off..." So so good. I listened to it on Bandcamp so many times in a row that it eventually asked me to pay which I didn't even realize was a thing LOL... Highest recommendation of the month for sure, check it out if you want https://laurabenitezandtheheartache.bandcamp.com/album/heartless-woman
- That was the first time I had actually listened to "St. Anger" and although it's definitely their weakest album I actually kinda like the constant changing riffage...don't get me wrong though it still sucks.

LIVE
5/2/15 - The Coltranes/(The Gravitys)/The Larkies/Casual Friday/Recluse/Sunk/Spectres @ Ali's House (Zach Navis's going-away show)

LIVE NOTES
- That show for Navis's going-away was a ton of fun, I got a bit wasted and \_/ did a fairly sloppy set but it was great to see everybody again, it had been too long.

5/26/15 - "Lewis Black: In God We Rust"
5/27/15 - "D.L. Hughley: Reset"
5/31/15 - FINISHED "Freaks and Geeks" Season 1

MOVIES/SHOWS/DVDs NOTES
- It's funny looking back at that Nightmare Fest DVD and realizing how fucking lame most of the mid-2000s metalcore scene really was...Black My Heart and The Warriors had some badass sets though.
- The forensics scientist from "The Jeffrey Dahmer Files" seems just as demented as he was but he found a way to legitimize his morbid ways
- I didn't realize how many essential things about Alice Cooper were actually the brainchild of his manager
- I very much enjoyed "Freaks And Geeks" although I'm very disappointed in the main character's decision at the end of the finale...You're gonna regret that, kid.

ZINES
5/12/15 - FINISHED "Slingshot" Issue #98 Autumn 2008
5/22/15 - FINISHED "Policing on a Global Scale"
