Halfie

It's strange, what people leave behind.

Be they heirlooms reclaimed following
Or casually neglected carrion, -
Leftovers to sustain proactive

Homeless - Haunted houses
Carry with them an intrigue
Not everyone

Views uniformally.
Property is a hands-on matter
Grasping fruitless
Granted its shifting clutch.
Regardless,

There remains a perverse sloganeering
Which prides a similar claim -

By nature hood -

Often losing the day's harvest
Before the kitchen is reached,

Whilst Hallmark-hearsted
Cramps bother
With mysteries-come-riddles.

"I've been Mining for days...
Underneath this house,
This house where I was born."

The dead do the will of the living;
Plaigiarisms of votive script.

"To have and to hold..."

GENRE(S) REVIEW: Deathcore and Dubstep

deathcore and dubstep were both stupid as fuck but also hella fun and hard to explain, like a kid angrily breaking down how this robot ninja isnt like this other one, theyre not even cool with each other, theyre like not even from the same series, what the fuck mom get your shit together

fads upon fads, indistinguishable from their template yet characterized by an insistence on fundamental difference that, once their supposedly eXtreme/rad & totally fresh traits were identified, became templates themselves and now kids are hearing Integrity and Roni Size for the first time and acting like the 90s were what it was about cuz fuck all this trendy shit coming out nowadays.. chinpokomon.

Confections can be a part of a well-balanced diet, they just shouldn't be seen as anything but what they are and what they were intended for and that's not prolonged, cornerstone reliability. they taste good for a moment, they're almost overwhelming and desensitizing, and then they disappear completely and you feel kinda silly but not really because that shit was fucking tasty but yeah i dont want another, can we listen to Radiohead or the radio or something else for a little bit? I seriously have to be there early tomorrow, nobody's tryna dance right now Ryan its like 3 in the morning

EP REVIEW: The Dodges - "Yelling at Adult Men"

   This is a good EP. If you like the style of music this band plays, you will know right away that you will like the rest of the EP about 20 seconds into the first song. It's punk but not overtly so, it's well-recorded but still has a little bit of a sneer, it's very unoffensive in every way. It's a lazy listen in the best of ways; you can put this on and fold your laundry and not trip that your roommates are gonna be freaked out by the evil music coming from your room or something. As such, there's also not a whole lot to say here. There's a rhythm guitarist who's probably the vocalist too and then like some lead guitars sparkling each song with Rancid-esque punk-style main-guitarist parts, and a strong bass tone like the Bouncing Souls, or again, Rancid, have. I'd say they're more along the lines of the Bouncing Souls in that comparison just because Rancid have mohawks and shit and these guys seem like they are probably Weezer fans. For some reason, maybe because I just recently heard a song from them for the first time in awhile, they kind of remind me of a less-indie Thermals. They're from the San Diego area so there's a hint of Rocket From The Crypt in the general sense that there is lazy money behind this. It's definitely cool, I have no qualms with this EP whatsoever. I wrote this review with enough time to fold a few pieces of laundry before it ended, and I'll gladly watch them open up for bands with albums that generate arguments. Recommended.

EP MINI-REVIEW: I'm Glad It's You - "June"

    I heard this album/EP when it first came out a few years ago because the band was coming into town or touring with another cool band or both or something and the name stuck with me because of its sense of relief that also betrays abandonment or social misfitting or something. The music is along the lines of "90s emo" revival more along the rock music side of things than screamo, although the singer is like the Hot Water Music or Lay Down Mains singers where its not quite a vicious scream but more like a harsh yell-sing thats emphasized but not dramatized and understandable but not at all in your face. Very relatable, almost overtly simplistic statements like someone would say in conversation to someone they know well  enough to just talk in normal terms that say more between the lines than linguistics can math.
    "Curbside" and the title track both bridge between sullen apartment-indie meanderings both on guitar and in the vocals into quasi-core quasi-singalong parts with rhthym buildups to indicate emotion. That's a trope in this general world of music that's been overplayed in my opinion but it's done well here. The other songs are a bit more carried in their flow but still have an ache about them that is trying to feel better but fucks up all the time and is sorry about it.
    I would like to see this band live if they're still playing, but I don't really hear about things anymore because I don't feel like I should put out the time to continue doing things I liked for a long time, because that was a long time ago and I don't know what I like anymore.

   Highly recommended.

The People's Court

   I am not going to say the words you say at yourself

   Denial is more than incinerated

   Homes you should have never entered.

   Uncalloused hands on alpha bears

   Touch unkempt porous

    Leather; dime

    Run mysteries

    Chew and spit the mush

    Left from patrol-

    Less grinding tomb bones.

    You wouldn't be offended if you weren't at a loss,

    Unable to envision

    Contests dried of righteous motive;

    Zero-sums leave no wreath

    Of victimhood to embrace.

    "I will not take any blame,"

    You appall

    At my jawless pinpoint scoops

    Of obvious pursuits

    Somehow your thicket hides from you.

    My wrath hath

    No sentence.

    I will not see the through

    Street connect

    From my bubble to your algal bloom,

    Your tar-fumed, vestal playplace

    Where structures melt in orcal cries

    Imaginary and upsetting

    To fans

    Saddled with cooing

    You from your filth.

    To care is to be pathetic.

    One rotund line misshapen

    Can cipher cold

    From once-abounding dawns

    Seemingly used

     To quick, dry mentions.

     Put away your Hester's hat,

     Unfit for pride-less harlots

     More thatched by mousetraps th()n

     They are aware of what they're wretching.

     Keep distance, young

     Despoiled despoiler,

     You most unwillingly latched;

     Spare none in your vanquishment of praise.

     No filter can character

     Charcoal shadows you

     Erect.

     Much life upon thee,

     Never-Held-To-Any-Ghost.

     Mischeif will die someday.

Recants

Shunted from disjointed markers,
Tagged for other ventures

Was the rag

We laughed on the way home about.
"Whose?" "Why?"

Elementary, fundamental
Questions anyone passing

That trail would ask.

Simple trash villains -
(Etymologically) -
Retain the scene witnessed

On uneventful treks each dawn presumes;

It was that hanging ribboned parcel which
Caught eyes watching

For every and any
Disparity upon the worn,

Barking curvature.

An origin free of malaise
Did not, could not occur

To us, given
The untradeworthy condition
This sunken cost now held.
Beneath our feigned interpretation

Casting the ornament a punchline
Was a lowly knocking
Stomach-ache

Composed of lingering recants;

"I don't really feel this way."
